This time I would like to share with you my exchange experiences. In fall 2015 I travelled to Texas to study for one semester at Texas A&M University. It is specialized in Agriculture and Mechanics, but there is also an economics department, mostly linked to the agricultural sector. It was a perfect opportunity to focus a bit more on agricultural related issues.
Greece has been in the midst of perhaps, as some say, the worst financial and economic crisis since the end of the Second World War for almost nine years now. At one moment things seem to be improving, then a harsh realization kicks in that the situation might actually be getting worse and even out of hand. This has been the reality for the Greek banking sector these last couple of years. With a series of large write-offs and big losses that the banks had to incur which have also impacted a number of people, the banking sector still faces great uncertainty and I will try to bring to the table a few of these ongoing problems to try to make the situation a bit clearer.
As I entered the last year of my bachelor, I asked myself many questions about what comes next. Questions like “Where should I look for a job?” or “Should I head back home or find a job here in the Netherlands?” These are questions we have all asked ourselves at some point or the other.
Students of Tilburg will know. It is almost time for carnaval again. Many stores already changed their assortment to green and orange accessories or something festive. At the bars the schedule for carnaval is being made. This sight makes me wonder, is carnaval giving the local economy a big boost?
